Rome's 2778th Birthday

Rome's 2778th birthday was celebrated on April 21, 2025, commemorating its legendary founding by Romulus on April 21, 753 BC. The event, known as Natale di Roma (Birthday of Rome), features historical reenactments, parades, fireworks, and various cultural festivities throughout the city. Groups such as the Gruppo Storico Romano participate in the reenactments, drawing crowds of history lovers and Rome enthusiasts.

Pienza

The fountain in Panicale is a historic, octagonal travertine cistern located in the main square, Piazza Umberto I. Built in 1473, it was converted into a fountain in 1903 and serves as the centerpiece of the medieval Umbrian village, featuring two griffins holding a shield at its base.Location: The fountain sits in the heart of the town, which is located in the province of Perugia, overlooking Lake Trasimeno.Significance: It was formerly the town's primary cistern and well, extending beneath the square, and is a key architectural feature of the town's medieval design.Surroundings: The piazza is surrounded by historic buildings and cafes, including the 14th-century Palazzo Pretorio.

Castiglione Del Lago Tulip Festival

The Castiglione del Lago Tulip Festival (Festa del Tulipano) is held every April. Established in 1956, the festival honors the region’s tulip cultivation tradition, which began in the 1930s. Visitors are treated to vibrant floral displays, a colorful parade of allegorical floats, lively street performances, live music, and an array of local food and drinks.
