His secretive family background adds to his enigmatic reputation within the intelligence community.

This is Scipio

Scipio, a formidable figure with a military background, stands as the Head of AISI, Italy's internal intelligence agency. Born into a naval family, his father served as a Lieutenant Admiral, instilling in him a deep sense of duty and discipline. Scipio's career began on the *Giuseppe Garibaldi* Italian aircraft carrier, where he served as a *Capo di prima classe* and intelligence officer from its commission in 1983 until the Kosovo War in 1999. His time on the carrier, including his role in the 30 sorties flown during the conflict, honed his strategic mind and coolness under pressure.

In 2003, at the age of 43, Scipio joined the AISI. His first leading assignment was investigating the assassination of policeman Emanuele Petri by the Red Brigades, a case that demonstrated his tenacity and dedication to justice. His exceptional service led to his appointment as the Head of AISI in 2014, where he earned the title "Scipio" after Rome's greatest general, Scipio Africanus.

Scipio is a man of few words, preferring action and results over rhetoric. His stern demeanor is offset by a paternal concern for his agents, particularly those he mentors. Despite his tough exterior, he is introspective, often reflecting on the weight of his decisions. His experience and insight make him an invaluable mentor, guiding others with a firm yet fair hand, always emphasizing the importance of integrity and perseverance in the face of adversity. His office, adorned with mementos from his naval career, serves as a reminder of his roots and the values he upholds.

Scipio's real name is Giuseppe Maranello. However, no one in the service knows the name of his family background, ensuring that his family can't be used as a lever against him. This secrecy adds to his enigmatic persona, making him a respected and somewhat mysterious figure within the intelligence community.
